Each rune is a letter, a word, and a meaning beyond the word. The 'Elder Futhark' was the first alphabet / collection of runes. There have been others. A few of the Elder Futhark runes have been variously depicted due to their evolution. Presented here are the depictions which seem most prevalent.
Each of these individual runes is circled by the complete elder futhark. The artwork has been printed on aged parchment paper. It is then hand cut and sealed between a bronze tone setting and a 25mm glass cabochon.

Algiz - Literal an Elk - Symbolizes Protection, defense, instinct, guardianship, unity. Associated with and painted on shields. Often worn for protection.

Ansus - Literal an Estuary - Symbolizes the mouth, communication, understanding, inspiration. Associated with the wisdom of Odin. Often worn to promote communication and understanding.

Berkana - Literal a Birch Tree. Symbolizes birth, femininity, fertility, healing, regeneration. Often worn to promote physical, emotional, and psychic healing

Dagaz - Literal the Dawn. Symbolizes awakening, certainty, illumination, hope. Often worn to promote new understandings.

Eiwaz - Literal a Yew Tree - Symbolizes balance, enlightenment, death, the world tree Yggdrasil. Often worn to achieve balance threw the wisdom of the natural world.

Ehwaz - Literal a Horse. Symbolizes transportation, movement, progress, trust. Often worn to promote change and moving on.

Fehu - Literally livestock. Symbolizes wealth, abundance, wealth, success, security, fertility. Often worn to promote abundance and fertility.

Gebo - Literally a gift. Symbolizes balance, exchange, partnership, generosity, relationships. Associated with spears. Often worn to promote fair exchange and charitable giving.

Hagalaz - Literally hail. Symbolizes nature's wrath, being tested, overcoming obstacles. Often worn to help overcome medical challenges including substance dependency.

Inguz - Literally a Seed. Symbolizes goals, growth, change, common sense, home. Associated with the Norse god Ingwaz. Often worn to promote change and growth.

Isa - Literally Ice. Symbolizes clarity, introspection, standing still, waiting, standing still. Often worn for grounding and to promote introspection.

Mannaz - Literally humanity. Symbolizes friendship, social contract, cooperation, teamwork. Typically worn to promote friendship and unity between people, especially couples and brothers.

Nauthiz - Literally need. Symbolizes restriction, conflict, willpower, self-reliance. Often worn to promote willpower and individuality.

Othala - Literally heritage and inheritance. Symbolizes ancestry, possessions, heritage, and valued generational traditions and tangible goods. Often worn to reinforce ancestral values.

Perthro - Literally an elder tree. Sometimes translated as a cup used for gambling games like dice. Symbolizes hance, fate, mystery, dance. Often worn for luck in gambling.

Raidho - Literally a wagon. Symbolizes travel, rhythm, spontaneity, evolution, decisions. Associated with the Norse god Thor. Often worn to attract Thor's blessings.
